Biologiska mekanismer vid stress och utmattningssyndrom.
Pågående forskningsstudier
Jag är involverad i flera forskningsstudier som berör olika aspekter av stress och utmattningssyndrom. Flera av studierna handlar om att hitta den biologiska mekanismen vid utmattningssyndrom. I en studie mäter vi nivåerna av hjärnskademarkörer hos patienter med utmattningssyndrom och undersöker om denna eventuella hjärnskada är permanent eller läker med tiden. I en annan studie försöker vi förstå mer om biologiska mekanismer vid utmattningssyndrom genom att mäta koncentrationen av ett antal olika proteiner i blod. Vi studerar också om man kan hitta kopplingar mellan biologiska förändringar och specifika symtom, som exempelvis kognitiva problem. I ett antal studier undersöker vi om det finns biologiska faktorer eller faktorer i livssituationen som medför ökad risk för att personer med utmattningssyndrom har kvarstående symtom i många år.
