Jill McLaughlin is a Maine-based writer whose essays, short stories, and poems have been published in Stonecoast Review, Pangyrus, Channel Literary Magazine, and First Line Journal. She was the recipient of the 2023 Ilgenfritz Scholarship and the 2019 Martin Dibner Memorial Fellowship. She is currently working on a non-fiction book, researching a 1918 letter of adoption found in her great-grandmother's desk. The book pulls together themes of family legacy, reproductive rights, and women in medicine. During the fellowship at Kallhult ett 6 she plans to finish a first draft of the book.
