Henrik Schedin är kulturskribent och kritiker. Tidigare var han redaktör för tidskriften Sydasien och nu är han redaktör för kritik.nu, om samtidskonst. Hans novell Väderstationen kommer ut i antologin Profetia under vintern 2024/2025.

Under stipendievistelsen vid Bengtsfors bibliotek kommer Henrik Schedin att utveckla ett manus i ett tvådelat projekt om hur vi presenterar oss för främlingar och vilket behov vi har av den andre. En del är ett skönlitterärt projekt som utgår från premissen att en mindre svensk kommun tvingas presentera mänskligheten för utomjordingar.
Den andra delen är en essä som utgår från den japanska ön Dejima, den plats där Japan tog emot utlänningar under 1600-talet.

Henrik Schedin is a culture writer and critic. Previously he was the editor of the journal Sydasien and now he is the editor of kritik.nu, about contemporary art. His short story Väderstationen will be published in the anthology Profetia during the winter of 2024/2025.

During the scholarship stay at Bengtsfors library Henrik Schedin will develop a script in a two-part project about how we present ourselves to strangers and what we need of the other. One part is a fiction project based on the premise that a small Swedish municipality is forced to present humanity to aliens. The second part is an essay based on the Japanese island of Dejima, the place where Japan received foreigners during the 17th century.
