Sonali Misra (Edinburgh, Storbritannien)

Sonali Misra är en indisk författare och doktorand i förlagsstudier, bosatt i Edinburgh, Skottland. Hon är medgrundare av The Selkie Publications CIC (www.theselkie.co.uk) som publicerar och främjar underrepresenterade författare. Hennes noveller och personliga essäer finns i kanadensiska, brittiska och indiska antologier och i The National Library of Scotlands arkiv. 2021 nominerades hennes personliga essä Dear Sonali till Anne Brown-priset instiftat av Wigtown Book Festival och BBC och 2020 publicerades hennes facklitterära debutbok 21 Fantastic Failures av Rupa Publications.

Under residensvistelsen kommer Sonali Misra att arbeta med att färdigställa manuskriptet till sin första roman, en politisk äventyrsfantasi med titeln Aasra.

Sonali Misra is an Indian author and PhD researcher in book publishing, residing in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is the Co-founder of The Selkie Publications CIC (www.theselkie.co.uk), which publishes and promotes underrepresented writers. Her short stories and personal essays can be found in Canadian, British and Indian anthologies and The National Library of Scotland archives. In 2021, her personal essay 'Dear Sonali' was shortlisted for the Anne Brown Prize organised by Wigtown Book Festival and the BBC, and in 2020, her debut nonfiction book 21 Fantastic Failures was published by Rupa Publications.

At the residency, Sonali will be working towards completing the manuscript of her first novel, a political adventure fantasy titled Aasra.
