Support for academia and industry for the benefit of the patient
Collaboration between healthcare, academia and the Life Science sector is important to increase the number of value-creating innovations. The Innovation Platform has a knowledge of the needs of healthcare in Region Västra Götaland and understands the driving forces of industry and academia.
Our aim is to contribute to the development of more innovations based on real needs in healthcare.
Here are some examples of our services for academia and industry:
• Needs study/assessment, which contributes to better insight into the product/service users in healthcare
• Matching of clinical departments with companies and/or academia based on their common needs
• Project coordination and resource monitoring
• Testing and simulation in clinical environments

The innovation platform is a tax-financed function within Region Västra Götaland. External actors therefore pay the cost of the resources used within the assignment period.
